Social networking is an advertising POWERHOUSE. Anything you do through social networking that is connected to your blog is magnified a gazillion times! There are several ways to promote your blog through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Linkedin. I prefer Facebook and Pinterest! I am completely addicted to the both of them. I've been blogging a little over a year and in that time I've gained over 400 blog followers, more than 2,500 FB followers and over 4800 Pinterest followers. If you are looking to grow you viewership and/or generate income from your blog, it would behoove you to become familiar with how these networks can benefit you.
When I first started blogging I bought Charity Preston's Teacher Blog Traffic School. Honestly, that is what jumpstarted my blogging. It is also how I became a part of a growing circle of teacher bloggers. I have some blogger friends that I talk to so regularly-- it is hard to believe that we have never met in person!! By joining TBTS, not only did Charity provide me with tutorial videos that helped me to strengthen my social networking skills, I also gained membership into an exclusive group for teacher bloggers. We share tips, collaborate on large events and projects, and cross-promote for each other.
