Collaborating

If and when you enter the teacher blog world, I cannot stress enough the importance of collaborating with other teacher bloggers. Number 1, it is fun. Number 2, it helps others to get to know your blog. Number 3, it can help you sell more products on TeachersPayTeachers. There are several ways to collaborate. You can interact with other bloggers on their Facebok page. You can join FB groups that have been created for the sole purpose of collaborating. You can participate in linky parties hosted by other bloggers or, you can throw your own linky party. You could also join in on weekly/monthly events that some bloggers host regularly!

I am a contributor on the very popular blog, Classroom Freebies. I earned this position by collaborating with other bloggers, getting to know other bloggers and staying in the loop! I am also a contributor on another popular blog called 3-6 Free Resources. I developed that relationship by blog hopping one evening. I was on the blog and I really liked what I saw. I liked the energy of the blog and decided to just reach out and ask if there were any open slots for teachers who were interested in being a part of the collaborative blog. She said yes and I've been a contributor since. I benefit from posting on these blogs regularly because it brings more visibility to my blog. By posting on these blogs and sharing free resources, I usually direct readers to my TPT (TeachersPayTeachers) store or back to my blog. A lot of times, people who may not have known about my blog now get a brief introduction of who I am as a blogger/teacher AND they get to download a freebie (and who doesn't love a freebie?). This is great for when I post new items in my TPT that I am selling. By bringing that new traffic to my blog, I pick up a few followers who now get an alert every time I update my store.

Here are some fun ways to collaborate and share with other teacher bloggers. There are also a few tips below that can help you learn how to do different things like host a linky party. Again, if you are thinking about blogging seriously, I urge you to look into Charity's Teacher Blog Traffic School.
